David B. Baker


David B. Baker is Vice President, Chief Information Officer, with Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries. He oversees all corporate information technology including strategic direction, information systems, security, and telecommunications systems, while reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. He has more than 16 years' experience in the acute and long-term health-care industry in technology services and systems.

Before being named to his current position, Mr. Baker was Director of Telecommunications for Tressler Lutheran Services, one of the two agencies that created Diakon in 2000. Before joining Tressler in 1997, he held the position of Supervisor of Technical Services for Pinnacle Health Systems in Harrisburg, Pa.

Mr. Baker earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Albright College in Reading, Pa., from which he was graduated summa cum laude. He earned his Master of Science in Information Systems degree from the University of Phoenix. He also holds an associate’s degree in electrical engineering.

Mr. Baker serves as a Commissioner for the Center for Aging Services Technologies—or CAST. As a program of the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, CAST has become a national coalition of more than 400 technology companies, aging services organizations, research universities, and government representatives that are leading the national charge to develop and deploy emerging technologies to improve the experience of aging in America.
