John J. Palkovitz, CPA, serves as Vice President, Financial Services, and as such oversees Diakon’s financial accounting, reporting, and analysis functions as well as the centralized reimbursement services functions. Before joining Diakon in August 2006, Mr. Palkovitz was a senior manager with KPMG LLP. In addition to his experience with Diakon, he has more than 17 years of diversified experiencing working in the health care industry as an auditor, business advisor, and feasibility consultant and two years of experience as the chief financial officer of a community hospital.

Mr. Palkovitz received a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in accounting, from Drexel University in 1986 and holds a license as a certified public accountant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). In addition to serving as a member of the PICPA Healthcare Committee, he has been an active member of HFMA’s Appalachian Chapter of Central Pennsylvania, serving as chapter president in 2004-2005 and currently serving a two-year term as a member of HFMA’s National Advisory Council.
