Diakon Adoption & Foster Care

Diakon Adoption & Foster Care makes every effort to keep adoption fees reasonable and within the reach of families interested in adopting a child or children. We welcome any and all contributions that help to keep our services affordable for families! See the How You Can Help page for more information. In addition, there is a $10,000 tax credit available for most adopting families; consult an accountant, attorney, or the IRS for specific information.

In Pennsylvania, the Statewide Adoption & Permanency Network pays fees associated with the home study and placement of children from within the state. That means the adoption process could literally cost you nothing!

Please note that this benefit is available to Maryland families as well, if they adopt a child or children from Pennsylvania, because Diakon Adoption & Foster Care is licensed in both states.

In all other intrastate adoptions, we bill the states for the placement fee. If they do not cover such costs, it is then up to the family to pay the fee if they remain interested in a child or children from another state.

One of the benefits of working with Diakon Adoption & Foster Care is our experience in intrastate adoptions across the nation. While such adoptions may require more adoptive family participation in paying fees, the service allows prospective parents to choose any child or children listed on adoption-placement Web sites across the country.
