To aid those families and their addicted loved one, Diakon Family Life Services
offers educational and informational services. Information is provided to those
suffering from drug or alcohol addiction or for families who have a member with
a substance abuse. Services include telephone information, referral to counseling
services, or educational programs on substance abuse for congregations, community
groups, schools, and businesses.
Diakon Family Life Services also provides intervention services to assist families
who have a loved one who refuses to obtain treatment. Intervention services are
based on the belief that the power of love in a family can help addicted persons
see the truth of their situation and the impact it has on their family and, therefore,
choose treatment.
