"If it hadn't been for you" is a phrase our counselors frequently hear. Usually, people don't
finish the thought, because they're uncertain, or even afraid to imagine, where they'd be if it
hadn't been for the compassionate, professional counseling they received.
With an emphasis on promoting relationships by using a positive approach
that builds family strengths, Diakon Family Life Services - Upper
Susquehanna helps clients handle challenges and emotions ranging from
life-threatening situations and addictions to vague feelings that
life could be better. We help people to see beyond the clouds, to
take the steps necessary to gain a sense of balance and control again.
Issues confronted in counseling include . . .
- Relationships
- Parenting
- Personal crises
- Loss and grief
|
- Separation or divorce
- Substance abuse
- Stress, anger, or other difficult emotions
- Work issues.

Of course, counseling is not just for adults. Children and teens often benefit immensely from
talking about their concerns. To meet children's special needs, our services include children's
and play therapy, individual and family therapy, and group counseling.
In addition to center-based counseling services, Diakon Family Life
Services also offers counseling in a variety of congregational and
community settings, so service is both available and convenient. Diakon
Family Life Services - Upper Susquehanna also has the contract to
provide a range of school-based counseling and other services in school
districts in Lycoming and Clinton counties.
Our center-based services are strategically located in three communities,
with additional congregationally based sites in other locales. For
more information on any of these centers, please contact the centers
listed below. |
