Welcome to Girls on the Run of Lycoming County. Girls on the Run is a life-changing, prevention-focused program for girls in third through eighth grades. The mission of Girls on the Run is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running.
Girls on the Run combines running-related events (including a three-kilometer race in our summer camp) with healthy-living education. Our programs instill self-esteem and strong values through health education, life skills development, mentoring relationships, and physical training—all of which are accomplished through active collaboration with girls and their parents, schools, volunteers, staff members, and the community.
Sponsored by Diakon Family Life Services – Upper Susquehanna, Girls on the Run of Lycoming County is an Affiliate/Independent Council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of more than 160 locations across the United States and Canada (both links open new browser windows).
