Diakon Hospice Saint John
Established in 1979, Diakon Hospice Saint John is one of the oldest hospices in Pennsylvania. Diakon Hospice Saint John offers services to people of any age who have an illness no longer responding to aggressive, curative treatment.
Diakon Hospice Saint John is dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care, focused on ensuring dignity and comfort, to terminally ill patients, while also supporting family members. Our goal is to ensure a high quality of life, so that patients can remain in their home setting as comfortably as possible, for as long as possible.
Providing services in eastern and some portions of central Pennsylvania, Diakon Hospice Saint John cares for anyone, including both children and adults, with a life-limiting illness or condition. Our services may be appropriate for those persons experiencing, but not limited to, cancer or the end-stage conditions of illnesses of the lung, heart, liver, kidney, or brain; or HIV disease or Alzheimer’s disease.
Our Mission
The mission of Diakon Hospice Saint John is to provide care and comfort to terminal patients and their loved ones within their home setting, while also serving as an educational resource in the community on end-of-life issues.

Diakon Hospice Saint John is part of Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries, whose Many Hands, guided by One Heart, have been changing the lives of children, families, and older adults since 1868.
