Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries and Diakon Senior Living – Hagerstown are proud of our assurances including our “benevolent care promise.”

That promise ensures that residents who have exhausted their financial resources through circumstances beyond their control or whose cost of care exceeds reimbursement, are able to receive continued housing, care, and support services for the rest of their lives within our senior living communities. With our “Many Hands acting as One Heart,” Diakon continues to care for our older neighbors through acts of service.

In 2011, Diakon Senior Living – Hagerstown provided $913,844 in uncompensated care as part of our investment in service to older adults. That amount included the actual cost to provide nursing care beyond what is reimbursed by state and Federal programs and the provision of assisted living services for those who have exhausted their financial resources. At the same time people’s needs grow, governmental and investment funding has declined. But with support from dedicated and generous donors, Diakon Senior Living continues to fulfill our promise of care.

Your support enables us to maintain our promise as well as to provide the “extras” in life that our budgets, in the face of shrinking reimbursement levels and rising costs, may not be able to furnish. Your support makes a vital difference in many lives. For more information, please contact Timothy Bilger or click the convenient link below. Thank you!
