Grief Support

Diakon Hospice Saint John offers bereavement support to patients’ families, friends, and other caregivers for up to 13 months after the death of a loved one. Diakon Hospice Saint John staff members are proud to offer a range of bereavement and supportive services for children, teens, and adults of all ages. In fact, Diakon Hospice Saint John annually offers Camp Evergreen, a weekend camp for children ages 8 to 16 to help them cope with the loss of a loved one.

Grief-related services include support groups, chaplaincy, individual and family counseling, and support from volunteers trained in bereavement issues and topics. By making phone calls, visiting, or sending out cards, our volunteers follow up with loved ones to provide an extra level of care and support.
