Diakon Kathryn’s Kloset acts as a conduit for corporate gift-in-kind donations by connecting multiple corporate partners with organizations serving those most in need in Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic states. Named for a mother who responded to the needs of everyone in her neighborhood, the program has grown into a distribution facility that partners corporations with numerous 501(c)(3) organizations in the Mid-Atlantic region. Since 2005, more than 750,000 people have been served, with an estimated 300,000 to be served in 2009 alone.

By establishing and maintaining direct connections between corporate donors and a network of partner non-profit organizations, Diakon Kathryn’s Kloset collects, stores, and distributes new and unused products to the non-profit organizations, which in turn distribute the goods, free of charge, to people in need in the community. Our warehouse-based operations center stores and distributes donated products to partnering agencies, allowing a far greater capacity of donated products to flow to those in need.
