Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries and Luther Crest are proud of our assurances including our “benevolent care promise.”

That promise ensures that residents who have exhausted their financial resources through circumstances beyond their control or whose cost of care exceeds reimbursement, are able to receive continued housing, care, and support services for the rest of their lives within our senior living communities. With our “Many Hands acting as One Heart,” Diakon continues to care for our older neighbors through acts of service.

In 2010, Luther Crest provided $570,405 in uncompensated care as part of our investment in service to older adults. That amount included the actual cost to provide nursing care beyond what is reimbursed by state and Federal programs and the provision of personal-care services for those who have exhausted their financial resources. At the same time people’s needs grow, governmental and investment funding has declined. But with support from dedicated and generous donors, Luther Crest continues to fulfill our promise of care.

Your support enables us to maintain our promise as well as to provide the “extras” in life that our budgets, in the face of shrinking reimbursement levels and rising costs, may not be able to furnish.
