Situated on the outskirts of Scranton, Pa., Lutherwood is located
in a peaceful setting, with urban amenities just minutes away. Downtown
Scranton boasts various cultural, educational, and recreational offerings
including the Scranton Cultural Center, the Mellow Center, the Northeast
Philharmonic, Nay Aug Park, Steamtown Mall, Steamtown USA National Park,
Lackawanna Stadium, Marywood University, Lackawanna Community College,
and the University of Scranton. Additional popular destinations—the Viewmont
Mall and Montage Mountain—are also nearby.
Lutherwood’s prime location allows residents to reap the benefits of
our peaceful, scenic campus. Lake Scranton provides not only a breathtaking
backdrop for the community, but also the
setting for walking trails. The wooded landscape is ideal for shaded summer
picnics and serves as a perfect place to gather with friends to play
shuffleboard or horseshoes.
Lutherwood is readily accessible from a number
of major highways including Interstate-81, Rt. 307, and the Northeast

If you are 62 years of age or older or physically handicapped and 18 years
of age or older, our fair-market housing facility offers equal
opportunities for all applicants who meet current income limits.
Lutherwood provides a safe and secure environment, with regularly scheduled
trips to shopping destinations, via our handicapped-accessible
minibus. Hourly public bus transportation also is available to
residents. Residents may choose to participate in a variety of
social activities planned by the Lutherwood Residents Association.
