At Ravenwood Lutheran Village, we want you to live your retirement years to their fullest. Whether you want to embrace your independence or experience the peace of mind our services can provide, we will help make your retirement years the best that they can be.

Our beginnings.

In 1976, members of Lutheran congregations in Washington County recognized a need for senior housing in Hagerstown, Maryland. To satisfy that need, the congregations raised funds to enable the purchase of 29 acres in southeastern Hagerstown, working with Tressler Lutheran Services—now part of Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries—to begin development of a nursing care center.

But Tressler didn't end the project there. After the Nursing Care Center opened in 1978, independent living cottages were completed in 1979, and additional cottages were added in 1981 and 1996. An Adult Day Services center was also opened in 1991 and during the last phase of development, an Assisted Living Center was constructed. In 1992, the Assisted Living Center opened its doors.

You can count on us no matter what level of care you may need. If you want to live independently, you can reside in our beautiful independent living cottages. Perhaps you need assistance with daily tasks, but want to maintain your independence—then our Assisted Living Center may be for you. In addition, we offer nursing and rehabilitative services at our Nursing Care Center where you will enjoy individualized care in a comfortable home-like setting. Our adult day services allow individuals to continue to live in their own homes, or with family members during the evenings and weekends, while our weekday care provides respite for caregivers.

Situated in a secluded area of Hagerstown, Maryland, Ravenwood Lutheran Village has the amenities of a rural community, with urban activities at its fingertips. Major interstates can easily be accessed from our facility, which means residents can enjoy trips to Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Harrisburg. Our location allows for additional cultural and recreational experiences in addition to those available in Hagerstown.

Social Circle.

Our village offers numerous social opportunities to our residents. We host special events, as well as organize cultural and recreational programming. From participating on our Cottagers or Residents council, or volunteering at local events, our residents enjoy a multitude of social opportunities.

Tradition of Care.

Ravenwood Lutheran Village is operated by Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries. Serving the needs of people since 1868, Diakon is one of the nation's most prominent health care and social services organizations. Diakon offers a range of programs for people of all ages throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
