Diakon Family & Community Ministries directly continues the organization’s nearly 150-year heritage of care and concern for children, their families, and their communities, a legacy of service that began with the establishment of homes for children in the 1800s. Offering services throughout most of Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware, these programs aid people in nearly all of life’s circumstances.

Senior Living & Communities

Having served older adults since the 1940s, Diakon today operates approximately a dozen continuum-of-care communities in Pennsylvania and Maryland, with most offering a range of senior living accommodations, personal care services, and skilled nursing and rehabilitative care. Focused on providing state-of-the-art services, Diakon emphasizes wellness, exciting amenities, the use of new technologies, and a range of stimulating creative arts and events—all designed to enhance older adults’ independence and dignity.
