Senior Living Services Administration
Michael Christian is Executive Director of Manatawny Manor, a Continuing Care Retirement Community in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. He is responsible for overall operations of the senior living community, which consists of entrance-fee personal care, a personal care community and a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center, along with the provision of multiple levels of memory-support services.
Before joining Diakon in 2017, Mr. Christian served as nursing home administrator of a short-term skilled care facility in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Prior to that, he served as a nursing home administrator at a long-term skilled nursing facility in Erie, Pennsylvania. In these roles, Mr. Christian worked with senior living and related services, including hospice, rehabilitation and personal care. He also previously served as a clinical analytics analyst, focusing on improving the quality of patient care through the use of evidence-based management.
Mr. Christian holds a bachelor’s degree in health administration with a minor in business, and a Master in Health Administration degree from the University of Scranton. As a graduate student, Mr. Christian conducted and presented research on patient satisfaction with hospice care at the MBAA International Conference. He also has been published in the Journal of Management Policy and Practice for his work pertaining to health and poverty. In addition, he served as vice president of his student chapter and continues to maintain membership in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
