Statewide adoption network prime contractor launches new website with features for families

Harrisburg, Pa. (October 3, 2014)

HARRISBURG — Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries and Family Design Resources, which in partnership manage Pennsylvania’s Statewide Adoption & Permanency Network—known as SWAN—have launched a new website for SWAN member-organizations but enhanced the site by adding a section for existing and potential foster and adoptive families.

“The new ‘families’ tab is a first for the SWAN prime-contractor website,” says Lisa Stum, SWAN contracts administrator for Diakon.

“Resource families now have quick access to essential information about permanency resources such as the Pennsylvania Adoption Exchange, Resource Family Registry, and the Pennsylvania Adoption Information Registry. Families also can learn more about the SWAN Helpline and opportunities for matching with children and youths. Post-adoption services, mental health resources, and adoption-search features are offered to support our resource families.”

Found at www.diakon-swan.org, the new site also features a news tab to highlight recent events and share information throughout the SWAN network of public adoption agencies and county children and youth agencies. Further, it features streamlined access to map-based listings of agencies within each county, benchmark information, and resources such as the SWAN Legal Services Initiative.
