Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries celebrates 20 years of Benefactors Dinners with a major celebration complete with exciting special guest, musician, and television and radio host John Tesh. The 20th anniversary Diakon Benefactors Dinner will be held Thursday, May 15, at the Sovereign Performing Arts Center in Reading.

The event begins with a new-to-the-event dining-station dinner at 5:30 p.m. in the center's ballrooms, followed by a concert in the theater at 7:15. Tickets may be purchased for the dinner and performance or just the performance. A portion of proceeds from all ticket sales benefit:

• Diakon Adoption & Foster Care
• Benevolent care provided by The Lutheran Home at Topton, a Diakon Senior Living Community

During the dinner, Diakon will recognize the two men credited with founding this important event to support our ministries, Col. Harry Yoder and William Deibert.

If you are interested in transportation to the event, shuttle service, via Bieber Tourways, will be available roundtrip from the Fairgrounds Square Mall, 3050 North Fifth Street Highway (Business Rt. 222), Reading. Parking is available behind JC Penney. The first bus leaves from the mall at 4:15 p.m.
