IRS credits
The IRS gives you 100% credit if you have hypnosis sessions for weight loss. More info on IRS.gov.
You can include under “medical expenses” the amount you paid to lose weight if it is a treatment for a specific disease diagnosed by a physician (such as obesity, hypertension, or heart disease). This includes fees you pay for membership in a weight reduction group as well as fees for attendance at periodic meetings.
Many insurance companies will reimburse for treatment with hypnotherapy if you have a diagnostic code from your GP.

Many employers offer a flexible spending account, which allows you to set aside pretax dollars each pay period to help cover prescription medication and other health-related expenses that are often not covered by traditional health insurance. Therefore, many hypnosis clients pay out-of-pocket for their hypnotherapy session and then submit their receipt for reimbursement from their flexible spending account. Some healthcare plans may require you to also submit a letter from your physician before you are reimbursed. Check with your insurer or employer if you plan to seek reimbursement from your flexible spending account.
