Diakon's Genesis Institute for Christian Learning is northeastern Pennsylvania's premiere provider
of continuing education for clergy, associates in ministry, diakonal minsters, and interested
laypeople and lay leaders, such as congregation council members, youth advisors, and Christian
education directors.
Using the creative input of the people it serves, The Genesis Institute seeks to identify and
provide educational and experiential offerings that are progressive, while soundly based in
theology and uniquely formulated to address the needs and desires for growth and learning
expressed by Christian leaders and laypeople alike. While programs are developed throughout the
Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, the institute's
workshops and seminars are typically of interest to those from all denominations.
Diakon's Genesis Institute for Christian Learning offers a wide range of affordable learning
experiences. While pericope studies remain a fundamental offering, the program has expanded
educational opportunities to include topics for church musicians, council development, youth
ministry themes, and others. In addition, the institute looks to you, our audience, for feedback
on topics in which you would be interested.
