Dementia Care
For those with dementia-related illnesses such as Alzheimer's disease,
Manatawny Manor offers two levels of care—The Horizons Community, a
secure wing of our Assisted Living Center, and The Milestones Community,
a similar wing in our Nursing Care Center. Each community is consistently
staffed with highly trained individuals who encourage residents to lead
an active life. Designed to motivate and rekindle memories, both the
Horizons and Milestones communities offer activities specifically
designed to meet the needs of residents with memory-related conditions.
Adult Day Services
For those individuals who continue to live in their own homes, or with
family members during the evenings and weekends, but who need daytime
assistance, Manatawny Manor offers weekday adult day care. Providing a
socially active and therapeutic atmosphere for participants, the service
also offers a respite for at-home caregivers.
Respite Care
Providing respite care in our assisted living and nursing and
rehabilitation units, Manatawny Manor requires no minimum stay. Whether
individuals need care for a short or long period of time, respite care
offers peace of mind—to both the individual and family members.
Manatawny offers many levels of care to meet varying needs. Whichever

Situated just outside of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, Manatawny Manor offers a
quiet suburban atmosphere, with nearby urban amenities. Conveniently
located near Rts. 422 and 724, Pottstown offers easy access to locations
such as Philadelphia, Reading, and Lancaster County's Dutch county, making
available a variety of cultural events. Manatawny Manor is also close to Pottstown
and Phoenixville hospitals, both of which offer a range of care for area
residents.
Social Opportunities Abound
The Pottstown area offers many cultural, recreational, and social opportunities, as
does Manatawny Manor. Providing diverse events focused on health, wellness, and
socialization, Manatawny Manor's program of activities and hobbies is designed to
maximize independence and nurture physical, emotional, and spiritual health. From
exercise programs to shopping trips and gardening clubs, our residents always have

A Tradition of Care
As the area's first retirement community, Manatawny Manor opened in 1974. Over the
years, Manatawny Manor became known not only for its care and accommodations, but
also for its strong vision of community service and pride. The same holds true
today. In 1998, Manatawny Manor added to its legacy of care, becoming part of
Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries, whose history of service to people dates to
1868!
