Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels is a driving force behind service to older adults throughout Schuylkill County.

Meals on Wheels is designed to provide hot and nutritious noon-time meals to homebound older adults, helping them to remain independent and in their own homes. Meals on Wheels provides short-term assistance for someone recuperating from surgery or an illness, or can provide longer-term service when needed.

Meals on Wheels is literally driven by volunteers. Each weekday, dedicated volunteers deliver meals to 450 to 500 county residents. The program also benefits from an annual history-focused walk that raises money so that special holiday meals can be provided to Meals on Wheels clients.

The program is contracted through the Schuylkill County Office of Senior Services.
