PrimeTime Health

Working to be not only caregivers but also educators, Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries offers the PrimeTime Health program in Schuylkill County, Pa.

PrimeTime Health is based on the idea that knowledge is power. A state- and county-funded program, PrimeTime Health provides older persons with valuable knowledge and techniques to assist them in maintaining health and wellness. Through seminars, health screenings, exercise programs, and nutrition updates, the program encourages individuals to take responsibility for their health.

Each year, PrimeTime Health serves more than 800 persons. Activities range from Schuylkill County's own "dancing grannies," known as The Exerettes, to an annual SpringFest, with a varity of themes, speakers, and health-related screenings.

The Diakon Schuylkill County PrimeTime Health program is operated under contract with the Schuylkill County Office of Senior Services.
