Wouldn't it be wonderful to watch, in a divided nation, people from different backgrounds, with disparate political views, working together? It would be especially meaningful if these people would indeed find their oneness in Christ and yet come from different churches and varying denominations. They would be united by a common purpose, that being their love of God and their fellow human beings.
In this beautiful dream, people would be seeking to help others, and wonder of wonders, this would be their only goal. They would be no selfish interests seeking to be served, for no one in the organization would expect a reward. Instead, this group of workers would be selflessly dedicated to the task of aiding others solely because they believe it is their Christian obligation.
People from divergent walks of life, from different Christian expressions, do you wish to seek the common good without any desire for notice, payment, or recognition?
Diakon Volunteer Home Care is indeed the collective undertaking of many people striving to serve God and others. In a self-centered world, a dedicated group of people is attempting to practice their beliefs in a compassionate, interfaith, love-filled way. The people of Diakon Volunteer Home Care know that giving is more important than receiving, and that the serving of the other is of greater value and worth than seeking after the needs of the self.
