Volunteer
Volunteer with Diakon Volunteer Home Care today for a life-changing experience—for you and those we serve.
Through Diakon Volunteer Home Care, volunteers from communities and congregations of many faiths come together to make a difference—to lend a helping hand in times of need.
Services are provided on a short-term, temporary, or intermittent basis, so volunteers are able to give of their time as they are able. Volunteer help is non-professional, so volunteers do not provide home health-related tasks, such as feeding, dressing, lifting, or giving medications. Volunteers with our program receive training and orientation, excess liability insurance, and may be eligible for mileage reimbursement.
Volunteering your time just a few hours a month can offer you the opportunity to ...
- Meet new people
- Help an older adult in need
- Support and give back to your local community and neighbors
- Ensure that older adults have access to medical care and groceries.
It takes only a few hours—and you—to make a big difference in a senior's life.
