Diakon Youth Services receives York County Community Foundation grant to reduce aggressive behavior among youths

York, Pa. (Monday February 1, 2016)

Diakon Youth Services has received a $10,000 grant from the York County Community Foundation to support training that reduces aggressive behavior in youths served by a York-based program.

The grant funds the 15-week participation in an Aggression Replacement Training group of 10 to 12 youths served by Diakon Youth Services’ Bridge Program, York.

The Bridge Program is a community-based, therapeutic weekday support and intervention service focused on helping at-risk youths develop accountability for actions and build a foundation of self-discipline and respect for family, teachers, the law, and self.

“We are very grateful for this grant,” says Ron Davis, who oversees all Diakon Youth Services programs in southeastern Pennsylvania, “which demonstrates the commitment of the York County Community Foundation to improve community life in the region.”
