Monitoring to assure success ...

The Bridge Program offers GPS monitoring services in a variety of configurations to assist youths and young adults in developing accountability and responsibility for actions.

Diakon uses the newest GPS monitoring technology. Students have permission only to leave their residence to attend school, probation- and court-related appointments, physician appointments, and any other court-ordered programs; students must have permission from their Diakon staff worker or probation officer to leave the house for any other reason. Inclusions zones can be drawn around schools to ensure clients are attending school.

GPS Seven-Day – This option provides monitoring 24 hours a day, seven days a week

Diakon Bridge GPS-Only Seven-Day provides accountability-based alternatives to detention or similar placement and provides round-the-clock GPS monitoring. While in this program, students are monitored only and do not receive face-to-face contact with a Diakon staff member. On-call services are provided to assist with after-hours and weekend monitoring.

GPS Weekends – As a stand-alone service or in conjunction with other programming, Bridge can monitor youths on weekends

Bridge GPS-Weekends is similar to the seven-day program in terms of program features but is provided only on weekends—to assist students during times they are likely to re-offend or be affected by peer behavior.

Diakon Bridge Intake GPS – A pre-disposition program offered as an alternative to a stay in detention, this option includes case management and monitoring services.

In addition to GPS monitoring, Diakon Bridge Intake offers less-intensive community-based supervision to pre-adjudicatory students. These students have not been placed on probation and have been committed on a conditional release through the court. They receive supervision from a Bridge Program staff member, with contact made at home, at school, and in the community.

Students in the Bridge Intake Program are monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week through our GPS monitoring system and on-call service. Beyond GPS monitoring, Intake services include:

  • GPS monitoring – 24 hours a day/7 days a week
  • Contact with school officials about students behavior and attendance
  • Contact with parents about students behavior at home
  • Face-to-face and phone contact more often to students who are not on the GPS
  • Advocacy for families
