Dr. Dillard Elmore
Dr. Elmore joined Diakon from Fedcap Rehabilitation Services in New York City, where he served as regional medical director responsible for Fedcap’s services in Manhattan and the Bronx. Manhattan-based Fedcap is a not-for-profit organization that provides vocational training and employment resources for people facing barriers to employment. While there, he provided advice and counsel on clinical policy, programmatic, and strategic issues focused on Fedcap’s WeCARE program. Dr. Elmore increased the efficiency of the clinical review team by 50% and achieved a 40% increase in clinical milestones.
He brought to Diakon significant experience in family medicine with a focus on geriatric care, having served as a primary care physician with the Greater Hudson Valley Family Health Center, Newburgh, New York, and Hudson River Community Health Care in Peekskill, New York.
Dr. Elmore has a bachelor’s degree in biology from the State University of New York at Albany and a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, as well as a master’s degree in business administration from the Stern School of Business at New York University. A member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Geriatrics Society, among other organizations, Dr. Elmore completed his family medicine residency with the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore.
He has written about primary care in public housing and presented on such topics as preventive health care, tutored ex-drug users in math and science and taught a medical school-level course in home care.
