COVID-19 ... our response in uncertain times
The world may have changed for a time; the need has not
Diakon has been serving our neighbors for more than 150 years—because caring people saw a need and worked hard to do something about it. That mission is more important than ever today as we face the spread of the COVID-19 virus and all the challenges it presents.
Yet critical service continues. Our children, families and older adults are receiving the help they desperately need—thanks to the selflessness, dedication and generosity of our staff members, volunteers and partners such as you.
But support to continue our ministry in these uncertain times is needed more than ever. Here are just a few ways your financial contributions can help ...
- Support for the many children, youths and families we serve, who may need assistance in purchasing food or paying rent as a result of lost employment.
- Funding the purchase of additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) or similar items for staff members in our nursing and personal care centers, as well as in certain child-and-family programs, to keep these front-line caregivers safe.
- Providing emergency funding for community service programs to help extend services or support to people who may otherwise be isolated.
By giving today, you will help to reduce uncertainty for many people in need tomorrow.
