A Tradition of Care—Twenty-Five Years and Still Going Strong
Having recently celebrated its 25th year of service to Mifflin County and
beyond, Ohesson Manor began as the result of cooperation between the
Mifflin County Board of Commissioners and Tressler Lutheran Services.
Focused on replacing existing county retirement facilities, the county
invited Tressler to build a new facility and expand upon existing services.
Through this unique opportunity, Tressler—now part of Diakon Lutheran
Social Ministries—built Ohesson Manor, a comprehensive retirement
community whose services have grown over the years to meet increasing
needs.
Our Residents Can Enjoy It All
Located on a tastefully landscaped hill overlooking Lewistown, Pennsylvania,
Ohesson Manor is just minutes from grocery stores, churches, gas stations,
restaurants, and retail shops. A fitness center, a pharmacy, and a local
hospital are also nearby. Enjoying the benefits of central Pennsylvania's
peaceful setting, Ohesson Manor is within a leisurely drive of State
College—home of Penn State University—and Harrisburg, making
rewarding day outings convenient. Easily accessible, Ohesson Manor is
located near Rts. 22/322 and Route 522 as they pass through Lewistown.
Mifflin and Juniata counties offer a variety of resources for older
persons through the joint Mifflin-Juniata
Area Agency on Aging, Inc.
We Offer A Multitude of Activities
Taking pride in our activity schedule, we offer social, cultural, and
recreational programs that meet the varying needs of residents. At Ohesson
Manor, we feel our residents should be socially active if they choose to do
so. From local trips to the mall to outings to the Senior Olympic Games,
residents can experience an array of social opportunities. Staying active
in the larger community, residents also participate in such local events
as a youth fair, musical programs, and community parades. All of the
activities—both on and off campus—help to keep residents
spirited and active.
