Senior living at its finest

To experience life at Ohesson means to know firsthand how rewarding retirement years can be. With a variety of accommodations and services from which to choose, residents enjoy the convenience and comfort of our senior living homes in The Village at Ohesson, or receive the nursing, rehabilitative, or memory-enhancement care they need at Ohesson Manor. Whichever accommodation or service is right for you, we invite you to experience Ohesson—where residents come first.

Thirty years and still going strong

Having recently celebrated its 30th year of service, Ohesson began as the result of cooperation between the Mifflin County Board of Commissioners and Tressler Lutheran Services. Focused on replacing existing retirement facilities, the county invited Tressler to build a new senior care center and expand upon existing services. Through this unique opportunity, Tressler—now Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries—built Ohesson, a comprehensive senior living community whose services have grown over the years to meet changing needs.

Our residents can enjoy it all

Located on a beautifully landscaped campus overlooking Lewistown, Pennsylvania, Ohesson is just minutes from restaurants, retail shops, and churches. A fitness center, pharmacy, and a local hospital are also nearby. Enjoying the benefits of central Pennsylvania’s peaceful setting, Ohesson is within a leisurely drive of State College—home of The Pennsylvania State University—and Harrisburg, making rewarding day outings convenient. Easily accessible, Ohesson is located near Rts. 22/322 and Route 522 as they pass through Lewistown. Mifflin and Juniata counties offer a variety of resources for older adults through the joint Mifflin-Juniata Area Agency on Aging, Inc.

A multitude of opportunities

Taking pride in our schedule of events, we offer social, cultural, and recreational programs that meet varying needs and interests. At Ohesson, we believe residents should be as socially active as they choose to be. From local excursions to the mall to outings to the Senior Olympic Games, residents can experience an array of social opportunities. Staying active in the larger community, residents also participate in such local events as a youth fair, musical programs, and community parades. All of these opportunities—both on and off campus—help to provide a fulfilling, engaging lifestyle.
