Affordable, carefree retirement living

Frostburg Heights offers independent living accommodations to persons 62 years of age or older or those with physical challenges, who meet income guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. For those who qualify, rents are subsidized by the HUD Section 8 program. In most cases, rent is approximately 30 percent of the resident’s monthly income.

Tasteful accommodations

Frostburg Heights offers handicap-accessible, one- and two-bedroom apartments that include a living/dining area, fully equipped kitchen, bath, individually controlled heating and air conditioning, and complete maintenance service.

Located on each of the building’s five floors, lounges serve as gathering places to socialize or just relax. The lower level offers a spacious dining room, including a full kitchen that can be used for activities. For residents who enjoy crafts, quilting, or doing puzzles or other hobbies, the Heights contains a spacious craft room. In addition, an exercise room boasts exercise equipment and a shuffleboard for residents’ enjoyment.

The complex also features a community living room complete with library and television, offering a comfortable, relaxing setting for residents to enjoy reading, socializing, or watching favorite television programs or movies. For additional convenience, a coin-operated laundry, snack and ice machines, a pay phone, and individual U.S. Mail post boxes are located on the building’s ground floor.

Congregate Housing Services (Choice) program

For those who need additional care to remain independent, Frostburg Heights offers the Choice congregate housing services program. Providing two meals per day and up to three hours of housekeeping and personal care services weekly, the program is designed to help residents remain in their own apartments. Subsidies may be available to residents who meet certain income and asset guidelines.
