In light of financial constraints, Diakon Adoption & Foster Care has announced that we are no longer accepting prospective adoptive families from Maryland. Until we phase out all Maryland-based services in March 2009, we will continue to serve existing adoptive families and those currently involved in the adoption process. In addition, we are working to transition current adoptive families to other community-based supportive resources. We deeply regret the necessity of this action, but want to emphasize that Diakon Adoption & Foster Care will continue to serve central and northeastern Pennsylvania.
