Diakon Community Services to distribute 2025 farm market vouchers

As in previous years, Diakon Community Services is administering the 2025 Senior Farm Market Nutrition Program in Schuylkill County. This program, offered through the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, provides eligible older adults with vouchers to purchase fresh, locally grown produce from approved farm markets.

Vouchers will be available starting June 10, 2025, to eligible residents of Schuylkill County. To qualify, individuals must:

  • Be 60 years of age or older by December 31, 2025
  • Reside in Schuylkill County
  • Meet income guidelines:
    • $28,953 or less for a one-person household
    • $ 39,128 or less for a two-person household
      (Income includes interest, wages, Social Security, unemployment, and similar sources.)

Important Notes:

  • No application is needed if vouchers are picked up in person at a distribution site.
  • Vouchers will not be mailed.
  • If a senior cannot attend in person, a designated individual may pick up the vouchers on their behalf with a completed proxy form (maximum of four proxies per person). Proxy forms are available at www.diakon.org/community-services.
  • Only one set of vouchers is distributed per eligible person per year.
  • Residents of nursing homes or other residential facilities that provide meals are not eligible for this program.

  • Pottsville: 201 North Centre Street
  • Schuylkill Haven: 340 Haven Street
  • Tremont: 139 Clay Street
