Diakon honors senior living residents who served in the military

Diakon today recognized military veterans among residents at its various senior living communities.

As a guest speaker at Luther Crest, a Diakon senior living community in Allentown, Pennsylvania, noted, “There is no junior varsity. Our vets are the first team.”

The various recognition events included posting and retiring of the Military Colors, band performances, speakers, pinning ceremonies and certificate presentations. Diakon’s Office of Development provides gifts for the veterans.

The celebration at Frey Village, Middletown, Pennsylvania, featured Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Horn, right, as guest speaker and Landon Mak, who provided special patriotic music.
